Capturing Suzanne and Austin’s DC cherry blossom engagement photos during peak bloom was an absolute dream. It took lots of planning and coordination to nail down the perfect date before the session took place since the peak bloom phase never tends to come as forecasted, but that’s OK as long as my couples remain flexible!
Suzanne and Austin were troopers and met me at sunrise for their DC cherry blossom engagement session. At this time of year that means waking up at 4 am for hair and makeup and making it to the Tidal Basin by 6 am in order to get that beautiful morning light. It also requires a lot of patience to wait for the perfect angles without tons of people in your photos. I don’t say this as a discouragement because these photos show that it is SO worth it in the end.
Suzanne and Austin’s session was such a joy. The love and happiness these two share is so evident! Austin met Suzanne when he moved back to the DC area from Los Angeles. Suzanne was in her second year at Georgetown Law. Somehow, Austin convinced Suzanne to have dinner with him on a school night. After meeting at Oyamel they walked hand-in-hand along the National Mall. They built their relationship over the next couple of years with their family and friends by their side, and cannot wait to be married in May 2020.
